The Frike Group in Wetzikon is known as the largest independent contract manufacturer for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and chemistry in Switzerland. In order to provide their services, they maintain their production machines themselves and are constantly looking for optimizations. Just as in this example that relates to the optimization of a filling plant. Until now, the setting of the exact filling volume required much mechanical work, as a cam disk was used in the drive to move the filling spouts. In addition, some housing parts hat to be removed. All in all much work, e.g. to modify the filling volume per filling operation.
- Easier handling and control
- Electronic operation of the drive unit
- Fast and accurate lifting movements
- Quality and little maintenance
Resolution / The way forward
Nozag supported Frike’s project manager and calculated the required components that had to work together. The screw jack appeared to be the obvious choice, since it can easily be controlled electronically. In order to further optimize the desired fine setting, ball screws were also specifically used in the screw jack. Nozag offers the NSE / KGT screw jacks in its standard products range. Since they use balls, they generate less friction and allow an accurate and smooth motion, still ensuring very high speeds. This was an advantage to allow moving the filling spouts up very quickly on the one hand and moving them very slowly during the filling operation on the other. Clamp couplings were used to connect the electrical motors.
- Screw jacks NSE 10, respectively 25 with ball screw
- Standard products allowing a flexible design
- Smooth, finely adjustable movement
- Electronic control, without mechanical interventions
- Simple and low-maintenance
«A brilliant product of Nozag. Having found a Swiss partner having his own production is ideal for us, as this is in line with our quality philosophy.»
André Hacker, Project Manager Frike Group Wetzikon
Product / Detailed information
Thanks to the modular system, worm gears can be ideally designed, e.g. with other screws as, in this case, a ball screw. The connection with the motor is often realized with suitable couplings, e.g. clamp couplings. We will be pleased to advise you at any time about the optimization of drive solutions.
